The Orange Empire Railway Museum is a railway museum in Perris, California, United States, formerly known simply as the Orange Empire Railway Museum. It was established in 1955 at Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Its present location is in Downtown Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The main attraction of this museum is its amazing collection of model railroads, which date back to the late 1800’s. The main areas of interest are the Engineering & Manufacturing Museum which showcase trains of the past and their engines; The Locomotive Heritage Center, which displays the history of railroading in the state and; The Steam Yard which demonstrates the technology used in the manufacture of steam locomotives in the state. The museum has two operational passenger coaches which were used on the California State Thruway system, which have been restored and placed on the site for tourist and visitor viewing. There is also the California Central Railroad Museum, which showcases a collection of antique passenger cars and freight cars. This section of the museum is also home to the California State Fairgrounds’ Automobile Museum.

The Southern California Railway Museum has the largest collection of model steam and diesel powered engines from the state’s history, which are grouped according to manufacturers and the era in which they were manufactured. The largest collection of steam-powered engines belongs to the depot in Los Angeles which is the depot of the California Central Railroad.
